Licensing Tom Chalky Products

I like to keep my licensing options fair and easy to understand. So hopefully, this page answers any and all questions that you may have. If you’re still left without an answer, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Font Licensing:

Personal Use License

My personal use license is automatically attached to any and all free fonts available on the site. Unless stated otherwise, my free fonts can only be used for personal projects. Personal projects are defined as projects with no monetary gain for any party involved. I trust your intuition. (Further details can be found within the Personal License PDF)

Desktop License

My desktop license allows the licensee to use the fonts within the creation of or as part of a company logo, within the creation of design works, rasterized images for websites and for personal and professional use. Also, you are able to use all commercial desktop fonts within End Projects for Sale, providing that the number of units does not exceed 250,000. The Desktop license comes with a 1 user limit, you can extend this with our Desktop License addon here (All details including restrictions can be found within the full Desktop License PDF).

Webfont License

The webfont license does exactly what it says on the tin. It allows the licensee to use the font within a website using the @font-face selector in CSS files. The webfont license starts with an allowance of 10,000 pageviews/month, but add-ons can be purchased to extend this usage here. (All details including restrictions can be found within the full Webfont License PDF)

App License

The App license allows you to embed/install the licensed font into an unlimited number of copies and subsequent versions of an Application. After purchasing this license, I will be in touch for the specific application details. (All details including restrictions can be found within the App License PDF)

Server License

An extended license is an extension of any license mentioned above and generally removes and/or changes any of the restrictions that have been outlined within the appropriate PDF licensing guide. For example, if you require a commercial desktop license but will be designing end products for sale that exceed the 500 units restriction, then an extended license will be required. All extended licensing can be obtained by contacting me directly.

Custom/Unlimited Licensing

Perfectly suited for large companies and brands that require a license that is entirely flexible (and usually without restriction). I’ve worked closely with a number of well-known brands to create custom licenses to suit their exact needs. These licenses can be obtained by contacting me directly.
